Green Party co-leader says removal from leaders' debates is 'undemocratic' ▶️

The stage will look different than originally planned Wednesday night, when Canada's major party leaders square off in the first of two nationally televised debates.

Instead of five podiums on the stage, there will now only be four.

The Green Party had its invitation rescinded less than 12 hours before the debate is set to start, with the Leaders' Debate Commission saying the party no longer met the criteria to be included.

Green Party co-leader Jonathan Pedneault called the "last minute decision" both "unfounded" and "undemocratic."

The Humboldt District Health Foundation has been chosen as the recipients from the upcoming campaign.  

Executive Director Lorrie Bunko is looking forward to interacting with the community throughout the week. 

HCAA Junior Badminton Boys and Girls Doubles Pre-District Championship results

HCAA Junior Badminton Pre-District Championships concluded on Tuesday. 

Boys and Girls Doubles competition took place in Middle Lake, Watson, Quill Lake, Imperial and Raymore. 

Successful qualifiers advance to the District Championships in Foam Lake on Saturday May 3.

Celebrate CanFilm Day

Since 2014, April 16 has been recognized as National Canadian Film Day or CanFilm Day. 

Movie theatres across the country are celebrating the day and that also includes Reel Attractions here in Humboldt. 

Tonight, they will be offering free admission to a pair of Canadian films.  

Watrous and Wynyard added to virtual physician program

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has announced the implementation of the virtual physician program for the emergency departments (ED) for both Watrous District Health Complex and Wynyard Hospital.  

With the addition of Watrous and Wynyard, 26 communities in Saskatchewan now have access to emergency health services via the innovative virtual care strategy. 

SaskTel partnering with international ag companies to deliver better services for prairie farmers

SaskTel is developing new assets to help tech companies better connect with farmers by providing them with more background infrastructure. The project's full name is The Smart Agriculture Data Hub, and it will provide tech companies with a digital toolkit to help them reach more farmers.

Heather Clair, the marketing manager for Smart Ag, says the program is all about partnering with all the right companies to deliver what Saskatchewan farmers need.
