Car enthusiast shows off blast from the past
The Vintage Cruisers Car Club meets weekly in Portage la Prairie, offering the community a flashback to the past.
When visiting the club, you'll see collectable cars of all types, but some stand out more than others. Andre Seguin's beautiful 1944 Ford Business Coupe caught the eye of PortageOnline last week.
The vehicle, made before coloured TVs, microwaves and even the Breath-a-Lyzer, is rare to see on the streets in 2024.
Seguin, a resident of Portage, owns several other collectible vehicles and has been enjoying the hobby for a decade.

Calls for MRI in new Portage Hospital gain momentum as Chamber weighs in
The Portage la Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce is advocating for an MRI unit to be included in the new Portage District General Hospital. Advocacy chair and vice-president Jamie Bernard notes that a brand-new $455 million hospital should have an MRI unit.
“The closest MRI right now, to my knowledge, is either in Dauphin or Boundary Trails. People travel all the time to get MRIs. So why not have them travel to Portage, spend money here, stay overnight, and visit restaurants, coffee shops, or shop instead of spending elsewhere?”
