1 body recovered, search continues for other missing boaters
One man is confirmed drowned and police and search and rescue crews continue to look for two other missing boaters near the north basin of Lake Winnipeg.
The RCMP says that on June 28, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Grand Rapids RCMP responded to a report of missing boaters on Little Moose Lake near Grand Rapids.

Firefighters still on scene of 'significant' structure fire in Centennial neighbourhood
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to "two significant structure fires overnight," and are still on scene of one of them west of Main Street.

At 5:35 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey, multi-family residence in the 400 block of William Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.

1 person rescued from apartment fire in critical condition, two pets also injured
One person is in hospital and several others are displaced after a fire at a Southboine apartment building on Thursday afternoon.
The City of Winnipeg says in a release that emergency crews were called to a monitored fire alarm at a three-storey apartment building on Shelmerdine Drive around 1:10 p.m.
When firefighters arrived they saw flames and smoke coming from the building. They were able to launch an offensive fire attack inside the building, using hose lines to put the fire out. By 1:33 p.m. they had already extinguished the fire.
78-year-old Winnipeg woman killed in train collision: RCMP
RCMP and CN Police continue to investigate a pedestrian collision with a train on Sunday which claimed the life of a 78-year-old woman.
Steinbach RCMP were called to La Broquerie, Man., around 12:40 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian having been struck by a train. Mounties say the collision happed at a railway crossing on Rue Principale in the community.

A busy section of highway just outside of Winnipeg is now closed for several days for construction.
Highway 1, in Headingley, just west of Highway 334, is now closed and will remain closed until June 28 at 9 p.m.
