Police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect responsible for a serious assault early Saturday at a bus shelter along the Rapid Transit system. 

After avoiding a couple of early season storms, it appears that luck is running out for parts of Southern Manitoba beginning Saturday night. A Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada for the entire southwest corner of the province, as far east as the Pilot Mound and Manitou regions.

Heading into Wednesday, based on the forecast alone, many would have assumed it could end up being a record setting day. Daytime highs were forecast to land between 19 and 21, and for most locations, if those marks were hit, new records would have been set.

To start off a double header on the road, the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings were in Nipawin Friday night to take on the Hawks for the second time this season. While last time ended in an exciting shootout, the Red Wings were more dominant this time around and earned a 4-1 win.

Northern Manitoba continues to be impacted by a Colorado Low on Tuesday, with total snowfall amounts possibly reaching 40 centimetres by the end of day.

Estevan Sharks water polo athletes hit the water for the first tournament action of the season at the Lawson Aquatic Centre in Regina on the weekend.

Estevan athletes competed against players from Weyburn, Regina, and Saskatoon.

The 15U girls won one of four games on Saturday. Mahlyn Bomberak paced the team with eight goals. Ryan Hoeving scored seven. Marlow Molstad netted two in her first bantam tournament. And Jennika Linthicum scored one.
