Silver Alert issued for missing senior last seen in St. Boniface
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 63-year-old woman.
Police say that Thompson was last seen in the Central St. Boniface area of Winnipeg on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at approximately 12:00 p.m.
Thompson is described as female, approximately 5’1” in height, medium to heavy build, with long black hair in a ponytail.
She was last seen wearing a purple older looking puffy jacket with purple fur, purple scarf, purple sweater, and black boots.
UPDATE: Police arrest murder suspect in death of 16-year-old male
The Saskatchewan RCMP announced late Tuesday afternoon that Edgar Kakakaway Jr. was arrested without incident on Keeseekoose First Nation.
Police did not provide any court information at the time.
Kakakaway Jr. had already been charged with the following offences following the death of a 16-year-old male that occurred early Saturday morning on Keeseekoose First Nation.

Fire at encampment leaves people displaced
Two people were left without a place to call home after a fire at a temporary encampment in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service says in a release that emergency crews were called to reports of a fire at the encampment just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The encampment is in the 600 block of Langside Street.
When crews arrived, they found an area of the encampment engulfed in flames and smoke. The fire was extinguished with damage to several tents and their contents.

First taste of winter in the forecast for parts of Southern Manitoba
After avoiding a couple of early season storms, it appears that luck is running out for parts of Southern Manitoba beginning Saturday night. A Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada for the entire southwest corner of the province.
