New trial begins Monday for Cochrane's Dillon Dubé
A new trial is set to begin Monday for the five members of Canada’s world junior hockey team, including Cochrane's Dillon Dubé, who are accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room in 2018.
Yesterday, Superior Court Justice Maria Carroccia declared a mistrial in the case, which had only just begun on April 22. Reasons for the mistrial are subject to a publication ban.
A new jury was immediately selected from 200 potential jurors after the mistrial was declared. All five accused have pleaded not guilty for a second time.
