Camps with Meaning launches their "Light the Fire" capital campaign this Sunday, April 14th

Camps with Meaning is a vibrant, growing ministry, guided by gratitude for the countless volunteers and supporters who have generously given their time, energy, and resources to make camp possible. Annually, they welcome over 6,000 guests, 600 campers, and approximately 70 summer staff members.

Two camps fall under the Camps with Meaning Banner, nestled in the beautiful RMs of Cartier (Camp Assiniboia) and Turtle Mountain (Camp Koinonia), they offer a diverse range of activities and programs designed to meet the needs of campers and guests.

ACAN hosting the first ever "Fruit Jam" in support of The Community Orchard Project

The Altona Community Action Network is hosting the first ever "Fruit Jam", a fundraising concert in support of their Community Orchard Project!

The concert is happening this Saturday, April 13th at the Community Exchange in Altona featuring some great local artists: The Sixagons, Liam Martin, Paul Bergman and Dejavu! Plus there's a beautiful handmade quilt coming across the silent auction block as well. You can find more details about all the artists and the quilt in the gallery below.

The inaugural MSF Quiz Night is coming up on April 27th in Altona

The Community Exchange in Altona gearing up for their second Bands Night this Saturday

Encouraged by the success of their inaugural Bands Night at the Community Exchange in Altona, they have another one lined up for this Saturday! (March 23rd)

The evening starts with the Community Meal at 5:00pm with the music starting around 7:00pm.

They have three fresh acts taking the stage for round two;

Seolah Kim, a grade seven student who will be playing violin accompanied by her mom on piano. 

The Silas Presley Acoustic Trio which will include vocals, acoustic guitar, piano and bass.

Gym owner Dan Maguet shares his knowledge for National Nutrition Month

It began in the late 1970’s as a “Nutrition Week” with a small group of community dietitians. Local dietitians across several provinces then began planning events and activities in their workplaces, shopping malls, libraries and with the media.

In 1981, The Canadian Dietetic Association, now (Dietitians of Canada) and all the provincial dietetic associations jointly sponsored the first National Nutrition Week with the primary purpose of the campaign to increase public awareness about the importance of healthy eating.
