The Swift Current Broncos season came to an end on Friday night with a 4-2 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors in game five of their second-round WHL Playoff series, dropping the series 4-1.

The Broncos scored first in each and every game in the series, and on Friday, Josh Filmon’s team-leading seventh playoff goal got the Broncos ahead. However, a natural hat-trick from Jagger Firkus gave Moose Jaw a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

“The second half, he’s been a real important player,” he said. “Any time he finds some time and space to shoot, he can rip the puck. So, happy to see him get on the board.”

Leo Braillard scored early in the first to give the Hurricanes the lead, but Josh Filmon responded for Swift Current early in the second on the powerplay to tie the game. However, it only lasted a bit more than two minutes before Sean Tschigerl restored the Lethbridge lead.
