Throughout the month of June, Town of Vonda residents didn't know from morning to morning if they would wake to a yard invaded by bright pink Flamingos and a notice to contact the local library for flock removal services.
Birch Bark Biting the focus of unique cultural display
The work of Pat Bruderer, known as Half Moon Woman, will host an art exhibit that opens on July 30 at Wanuskewin Galleries. The wearable art collection will be highlighted by Half Moon Woman’s amazing birch bark biting designs. The wearable pieces will be housed on mannequins that will display the original birch bark work with a unique technological twist. Laser etching will allow the original pieces to be transferred to traditional materials such as hide, fur, bone and metals creating head to toe looks.

Worldwide demand for potash continues to increase due to supply issues from central Europe and mounting demand. As inventories drop, potash producers are gearing up to increase production and restore inventories.
Road closure - 104th Street
Just a note from the city of Humboldt that due to track maintenance by CN at the level crossing, 104th street will be closed today between 6th Avenue and the Range Road 2 miles south of Highway 5.
The closure takes effect at 7:00 am. Work is expected to be completed by 6:00 pm.
WATCH: Grasslands Sheep Exhibition makes a return
The Grasslands Sheep Exhibition made a return to Humboldt Uniplex for the first time since 2019. The pandemic put a halt to the province wide show which, this year, saw entrants from neighbouring Alberta and Manitoba attend for show, trials and competition.
The Sheep Breeders Association promotes the purebred and commercial aspects of the industry. The organization hosts two shows a year, one at Agribition and the summer show which has been held in Humboldt since 2017.

WATCH: First Filipino Music and Food Street Festival a hit
A little rain flirted with the crowd on Saturday at the first ever Humboldt Filipino Music and Food Street Festival, but that didn’t discourage residents and visitors from flocking to Water Ridge Park.
Fun and fundraising Thursday at Humboldt SPCA
The Humboldt and District SPCA invites one and all to come out to a book fair and barbecue on Thursday, July 28. The event goes from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the parking lot of the Humboldt and District SPCA on Highway 5 east.
Along with the barbecue and book sale, there will be plenty of new puppies and wonderful adoptable animals to meet. Cats and kittens will all be on display, and SPCA members will gladly answer questions about adoption. Bouncy castles will be on site for the kids, along with hot dogs, sweet treats, face painting, and much more.
Police search for missing mother and son
Saskatoon Police are continuing their efforts to try and locate a missing mother and son.
48 year old Dawn Walker and her 7 year old son Vincent Jansen were reported missing yesterday evening when friends were not able to contact them.

The countdown is on, we are two weeks away from the 5th Annual Conexus Credit Union Humboldt Broncos Memorial Golf Tournament, featuring the Hunter Brothers and 2022 SJHL Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th, 2022.
The organizing committee is also pleased to announce, our tournament co-host, Jared Bednar will have the Stanley Cup in Humboldt Saturday, August 6th.
