Humboldt and area parents can book COVID shots for children at Humboldt Hospital
Health Canada has approved the Moderna Spikevax vaccine for children six months to less than five years. Starting at 8:45am Thursday, July 21, parents and guardians of eligible immunocompromised children will be able to book appointments by calling 1-833-Sask-VAX (1-833-727-5829) only. If there are other children six months up to five years in this household, appointments for all those children may be booked at this time.
15U AAA Dodgers split double header with White Butte Broncos
The East Central U15 AAA Dodgers split their weekend doubleheader against the White Butte Broncos heading into the last week of regular play.
In the opening match, the Broncos took advantage of a big third inning to score 6 runs on their way to an 11-4 win. The Dodgers held the Broncos scoreless after that, but the damage had been done.

There was something for everyone at the Art in the Garden Show and Sale held this weekend just east of Watson. Host Melody Lowes invited artists to display their works and to work with kids and adults on perfecting their own artistic expressions.

Another busy weekend for AAA and AA 18U Red Sox
As regular seasons begin to gear down in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League, the action is heating up.
It was a tight set of games for the East Central 18U AAA Red Sox on Sunday as they faced the Regina Athletics in a double header going into the home stretch of league play.
East Central Riverdogs capture provincial softball title
It was an emotional set of wins for the East Central Riverdogs Softball squad as they captured the provincial title on Saturday. The best of three set against the Red Selects of Saskatoon got off to an 11:00 am start on a hot July 16.
Playoffs on for Richardson Pioneer League

The Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League regular season has come to an end. Friday will see 3 games with The Wynyard Blues hosting a double header against the Rosebud Royals in the 4/5 Playoff Best of Three at 6:30 pm.
In Neudorf, the Posse will also host Balcarres Bronx for one game in their semi final best of three series starting at 7:00 pm. There will be a BBQ fundraiser on site.
Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory for Lake Lenore
The Village of Lake Lenore has issued a precautionary drinking water advisory for the community. The advisory is in effect until the village communicates otherwise; residents will be notified. The advisory has been put in place due to the water pump house upgrade.
In the meantime, the Water Security Agency advises the following procedure:
"Passages" introduces new avenues for two artists
The unique sculpture exhibit entitled Passages, on now at the Humboldt and District Gallery, is the product of a collaboration between two well-established Saskatchewan artists. Paula Cooley and Louisa Ferguson have joined forces to create striking pieces that reflect each artist’s interests and media. Now, the pair have found a new vehicle, metal, that literally and figuratively welds the two visions. The artists appeared for an opening event on Saturday, July 9 for a meet and discussion of the new exhibition.
FINAL UPDATE: RCMP issues safety alert following shooting in Langham
A male was located by RCMP police officers deceased inside a residence in Langham around 11:40 a.m.
The residence was on fire earlier in the day. It’s believed the deceased person is Justin Heimbecker, but this cannot be confirmed at this time. Police believe there is no further risk to public safety. Shelter in place was cancelled around noon.
RCMP Major Crimes states its in the early stages of this investigation and therefore cannot provide further details at this time.

There are plenty of experienced anglers in the area and lots of great lakes to fish. If you’re someone who hasn’t experienced the thrill of Saskatchewan fishing, or you’re looking to get back into it, then this weekend is for you. Free Fishing Weekend 2022 is upon us.
Free Fishing Weekend on July 9 and 10 allows Saskatchewan residents to try their hands at sport fishing without a licence. The program does not apply in National Parks and taking fish out of the province is prohibited without a license.
