Virtual physician program extended to Lanigan
Residents in Lanigan and area will have improved access to emergency care.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) announced that it is extending the virtual physician program to the emergency department (ED) at the Lanigan Hospital. Through this initiative, residents of Lanigan and the area will benefit from having enhanced access to ED services and continue to receive safe, high-quality, patient-centred care as close to home as possible.

RCMP seeking help in case of a stolen cell phone
Humboldt/Lanigan R.C.M.P. are asking for the public’s assistance regarding a theft of cell phone.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 5 at a restaurant 15th block of 8th Avenue in Humboldt. A picture of the suspect, who appears to be a female, can be found above.

57s best 18UAAA Red Sox in double header
The Swift Current 57s provided a tough challenge for the U18 AAA Red Sox on Saturday as the Sox dropped a pair in a couple though contested games.
In game one, the Red Sox out hit their competition but still fell 2-1. Jarret Rude, Dayne Schommer, Carter Huls, Cam Marshak, Pyror Dyck and Marek Yeager each collected a hit for the Sox.
Huge turnout for Build a Home Walk for St. Mary's Villa
Friends, families and residents of St. Mary’s Villa participated in Sunday’s Walk for St. Mary’s Villa. The “Build and Home” Walk saw trekkers head from the Villa toward Highway 5, everyone basking in the Sunshine of what turned out to be a glorious day. Walkers pledged dollars toward the construction of a new St. Mary’s Villa complex.
Racquel Hilbert wins Humboldt Watrous Sask Party nomination
On June 6, Racquel Hilbert won a contested nomination to be the Saskatchewan Party’s candidate for Humboldt-Watrous in the 2024 provincial election. She defeated two other candidates.
“Thank you everyone for your support here tonight, and I hope I can count on your vote this fall,” Hilbert said. “I am ready, to listen and engage with members across the Humboldt- Watrous Constituency. I pledge to advocate and speak on behalf in the legislature.”
A little rain and wind won't dampen a good burger feast
Lunch time music lovers braved the wind and the smatterings of rain for the first downtown barbecue on Thursday, presented by the Humboldt and District Museum in aid of the Historic Water Tower.
The cooks nestled behind the Museum, seeking shelter from the ‘storm,” but they kept cranking out delicious burgers.
RCMP requesting help tracking sign thieves near Pleasantdale
The Melfort RCMP received a report of theft from the RM of Pleasantdale.
Over the past while, approximately 30 road signs were recovered along the side of road, and they had been removed from the posts that they were attached to. An exact timeline of when they were removed is not known but it was over the spring.
The cost of replacement and installation of these signs is quite high and the removal of road signs poses a risk to the motorists using the roads.
Another side by side vehicle theft has local RCMP on the hunt
Humboldt Lanigan RCMP are on the hunt for thieves who have stolen another UTV or side by side vehicle in the area.
Sometime between June 2nd and 3rd, 2024, a red Polaris Ranger 900 UTV or “side by side” was stolen from a farm yard in the RM of Usborne. The matter is still under investigation by the Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP detachments.

Art in the Barn a beautifully rustic experience
Art in the Barn is an exhibition and sale that happens each spring just east of Humboldt at Dixon on the Ford Family Farm. Darlene Ford, an artist and patron, hosts the weekend event in an incredible restored historic barn loft. The gorgeous original wooden structure adds the perfect rustic ambience for the varied works crafted by local and provincial artists.
