Area RCMP detachments are seeking the public’s help with a pair of incidents.  

Wakaw RCMP Detachment is seeking the public's assistance in locating Albert Lavallee who was reported missing from Cudworth, SK. Albert Lavallee was last seen on August 31 at 08:00 AM. Albert Lavallee is described as 177 cm, 77 kg, male, Albert may be operating a Blue 1999 Chevrolet Silverado with Saskatchewan plate 674GGY. 

Horizon School Division to host Opening Day Celebration

Horizon School Division will welcome approximately 900 staff members to Humboldt for its annual opening day celebration.

Since 2014, Horizon staff have gathered to celebrate successes, collaborate, and prepare for the upcoming school year. FACC Partners with CRA for Debt Recovery Program Using Tax Refunds and Benefits

On August 21, the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FACC) announced its participation in the Canadian Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Individual Refund Offset Program. The program allows the FCAA to recover outstanding debts owed to the Crown through an individual’s tax refunds and other benefits.

Fatal highway collision south east of Regina

On August 12, a lone motorist died in a collision south east of Regina.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., Weyburn RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway #33, northwest of Fillmore. Initial investigation determined a semi and a car collided.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 27-year-old male from Winnipeg. His family has been notified.

The driver and sole occupant of the semi did not report injuries to police.

Team Sask. results for 18U National Championship Weekend

It was a successful weekend for the U18 Team Sask., as they played in the National Championships. 

The Friday, August 18th game took place at Ross Hennigar Park, as Sask. played head-to-head against Ontario. Team Sask. took the win 6 - 5. 

The team then took on Québec at Legacy Dodge Field on Saturday, falling to the team 0-2. The Québec team had a strong defense, not allowing the team to make many plays, leaving the Sask. team hungry for another win. 

Team Sask. gets first win in 18U National Championships

British Columbia had a tough time getting the runs rolling in their first game with the U18 Team Sask. team. 

BC kicked off the game in the first inning with a triple from Carter Cathers as he tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. 

Saskatchewan evened things out at the top of the second inning scoring one run and scoring another in the fifth inning due to an error. 

Team Sask. was relentless in the sixth inning, scoring five runs. The offensive onslaught was led by Colin Plain and Joel Bauml, all driving in runs in the inning.
