Vandals strike in Middle Lake: RCMP needs your help

Humboldt RCMP are looking for vandals who struck the Middle Lake Town Hall. 

On the night of April 22, 2023, the building on Railway Avenue in Middle Lake was vandalized. An unknown person(s) tore off the drain spouts on the south side of the building, located on Railway Avenue in Middle Lake, resulting in three drain spouts needing to be replaced.

Nature Conservancy announces gift of conservation from Canada to honour King's coronation

In honour of the coronation of His Highness King Charles III, the Government of Canada has marked the event with a gift of nature. 

A release from the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) states that it is honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility of delivering a gift of nature on behalf of the Canadian people to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

The organization has been entrusted with $100,000 from the Federal Government for a project that will conserve habitat across the country

"Visualizing Community Through Time and Place” workshop heading for Museum

The Humboldt and District Museum is hosting a workshop entitled “Visualizing Community Through Time and Place” on Tuesday, May 16 at 6:30 pm. 

A release from the Museum states that in the workshop, participants will be taken through an act of creative learning to realize one’s sense of place by accessing the past and seeking better

understandings of their community. The goal is to add to an individual’s knowledge and self-understandings, and to encourage stronger relations in the Humboldt area.

Humboldt Theatre Club has a hit with two act comedy

The Community Gathering Place in Humboldt was buzzing with excitement over the weekend's performance of "Who Dunit and to Whom...a play within a play in two acts" performed by the Humboldt Theatre Club. The play had four performances, one on Friday, two Saturday, and a wrap up on Sunday. All four shows were well attended.

Applications open for BHP’s 2023 Jansen Project Scholarship Program

BHP and Carlton Trail College are teaming up once again to provide eligible students with scholarships through BHP’s 2023 Jansen Project Scholarship Program. Carlton Trail College administers the program on behalf of BHP. Applications for the scholarship program opened on May 1. 

The scholarship program was created to support local students who are starting their journey through postsecondary education. Since 2012, BHP has awarded over $647,000 in scholarships to 249 student recipients. 

Humboldt Hitmen 15U girls volleyball captures provincial gold

It’s all gold smiles for the Humboldt Hitmen 15U volleyball team following their provincial championship top place finish this past weekend. 

The event took place in Saskatoon on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th. The Hitmen were seeded into division 3 with 25 teams competing. The Humboldt squad found itself pooled in with the other top four teams in the division in round robin play.
