Humboldt Hitmen U15 Club Volleyball team takes top place at Wakaw Tournament
The Humboldt Hitmen U15 Club Volleyball team made their presence known by taking a U15 tournament in Wakaw last weekend. The one day tournament featured six teams.
The Hitmen started out the morning playing Nipawin Fusion and beat them in both sets to win the first match of the day. Next came the Toppers from PA, who also fell in 2 sets.
Team Franko tops Quill Plains Chevrolet Premier League
Brent Franko, Murray Sunderland, Steve Moulding and Thomas Sunderland defeated Delores Syrota in the Final of the Quill Plains Chevrolet Premier League. After a low scoring start to the game Delores Syrota, June Campbell, Braeden Floischacker (sparing for Gloria Leach) and Sylvia Broad took a 3-2 lead with a 2-ended in the 6th. Franko followed that up with a big 3 in 7. Syrota failed to get the 2 back she needed to tie the game giving Franko the Championship.
Planned Power outage for Daphne area
SaskPower has a planned power outage set for January 26.
The outage will affect customers southeast of Daphne from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Broncos go two for two against the Battlefords
The Humboldt Broncos went two for two this weekend against the Battlefords North Stars, once again playing the role of Achilles’ Heel to the league leaders.
Fans in the stands of Friday night’s game were treated to an outstanding game as the two teams wrestled advantage back and forth in an end to end display. As has been their trademark this season, the Broncos opened up hard and fast with a goal from Quinn Myles in the first few minutes. It didn’t take long for the North Stars’ Jackson Allen to respond by tying the game.

RCMP continues search for missing 12-year-old girl
White Butte RCMP continues its search for a missing 12-year-old girl, Lila Dustyhorn.
Lila was last seen on a service road in Edenwold, SK at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 17, 2022. It's believed she was picked up by a vehicle.
Officers have been following up on leads and checking locations where Lila is known to travel and are now asking the public to report information about her whereabouts.
