New Year’s Eve is right around the corner. Maybe you have plans to go out. You might have already decided what you’re going to wear.  

But -- if those plans include alcohol, cannabis or anything else that impairs you -- do you know how you’re getting home?  

Fortunately, you have all kinds of options to make sure your New Year’s celebrations don’t come to a crashing halt:  

·         Designate a driver in your friend group (or BE the designated driver and start 2023 with all your friends owing you a favour). 

Crews contend with aftermath of snow and freezing rain

Tow truck operators and snow crews continue to clean up the aftermath of the winter snow and freezing rain storms that plagued Saskatchewan over the past few days. 

From noon on December 27 to 11 a.m. on December 28, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Operational Communication Centre received 59 reports of motor vehicle collisions and 37 non-collision weather-related reports, such as traffic hazards and vehicles in the ditch.

This includes a jack-knifed semi and trailer east of Kindersley, resulting in the closure of Highway #7.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes charges male after suspicious death, serious assaults in Margo

The RCMP major crimes unit has taken a male into custody following reported assaults and a suspicious death in the community of Margo, 35 km east of Wadena. 

On December 22, 2022 at approximately 11:20 p.m., Wadena RCMP received a report of an assault in Margo, SK. Officers immediately responded and located an injured adult female and infant. The adult female was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious and the infant was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
