Holiday Cheer Expo another seasonal hit
Humboldt’s Jubilee Hall was alive with the sights, sounds and smells of the season. The Holiday Cheer Expo backed in a crowd to partake in the local baking, home-based business goodies, and Christmas magic.
Local vendors came from throughout the area with spices, home products, scents tailored to the season, and much more. Unique fashions were on display by local artisans displaying one of a kind designs.
Broncos handle Terriers in a shutout win
The Humboldt Broncos skated off with a 4-0 win over the Yorkton Terriers on Saturday night in a rough and tumble affair where the penalty minutes mounted in the third period.
Humboldt's Alec Saretsky scored the opening marker in the first, a power play goal assisted by Maddox Amaral and Daylan Weigel.
That was followed up right after the puck drop in the second by Jeter Korte. Korte got the call up from the Warman Wildcats 18U AAA squad to mark his first goal with the Broncos. It was Timothy Kim and Noah Barlage on the assist.
Sask Parks creates transport partnership for winter tours
Saskatchewan provincial parks aren't just for summertime fun. Parks are open year round with lots of winter activities awaiting travellers.
Thanks to a new partnership with Engelheim Tours, Saskatchewan Parks is offering packaged bus tours to four provincial parks this winter.
The Saskatchewan Winter Adventures in Partnership with Engelheim Tours provides overnight and day trip bus tours to Cypress Hills, Echo Valley, Duck Mountain and Buffalo Pound Provincial Parks. It includes unique winter adventures, accommodations and meals for each guest.
Weekend Update: Ian Elliott - It's all about the ivories
Add another great concert opportunity to the calendar. Humboldt’s piano virtuoso Ian Elliott will be performing at the Westminster United Church on Sunday November 27 at 7:00 pm. The gifted musician has a special repertoire prepped for the evening that’s sure to appeal to all.
Weekend update: Shake up your spirit at the Christmas Cheer Expo
The Christmas shopping season is ramping up, so what better time to get in on some local home business favourites and enjoy the hard work of the area’s artisans. That’s what the Holiday Cheer Humboldt Expo is all about. The annual vendor and craft fair goes this Saturday, November 26 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Humboldt Uniplex.
“We have over 50 vendors coming,” says organizer Echo Stevens. “It’s going to be huge, as well as having a visit from Santa Claus. If you want to get your picture taken with Santa, it’s by donation.”
POLL: Saskatchewan affordability cheques
Scott Moe said that cheques would be in the hands of Saskatchewan residents in late fall and some people are still waiting.

According to some reports, there are still over 300,000 cheques to be mailed out.
RCMP seeking break, enter and theft perpetrators
Melfort RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the persons responsible for a break and enter and theft that occurred on November 16, 2022 at a condominium on the 200 block of McCallum Ave in Birch Hills, SK.
Investigation determined that at approximately 5:20 a.m., the two males and one female forcibly entered the condominium, entered an indoor parking area and went through two vehicles. A window in one of them was broken. It’s unknown if anything was stolen from them. It is believed that the individuals left the condominium on foot via an alley way.
Two Humboldt locals welcomed into Saskatchewan's Agricultural Hall of Fame

It was a big achievement for two Humboldt locals as they were welcomed into Saskatchewan's Agricultural Hall of Fame, along with four new inductees for the 50th anniversary of the Hall of Fame.
President Reed Andrew says the event honoured six individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Province's agriculture sector.
Humboldt’s own Leslie Hill was with the Prairie Agriculture Machinery Institute focusing on combine testing and evaluation.

Humboldt RCMP took quick action to save an individual at risk from frigid overnight temperatures as he fled capture.
Director Aaron James meets film fans at Guitar Lessons screening
Movie lovers were treated to a special screening of the Canadian film Guitar Lessons, along with a Q and A visit from its director, Aaron James. The event was held at Reel Attractions in Humboldt on Saturday night. The film continues playing in the theatre until Tuesday.
The film follows the relationship between a misanthropic guitar playing oilfield worker and a wayward, but earnest protégé. The additional characters provide humour, warmth, and passion in their struggles to come to terms with their own narratives.
