October 20th, 1971 – June 20th, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Laun Cameron Wilby announces his passing on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at the age of 52 years. Laun will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Tracey Lamont; daughter, Ellena Wilby (Ken and Ethan); stepson, Mason Blatz; parents, Diana (Dee) Wilby and Warren Wilby; brother, Christopher Wilby; niece, Calynda; nephew, Kaiden; and his dog Kurt.

Laun’s philosophy in life was service, service to family, friends, and community. He had a greatness of heart and keenness of empathy that allowed him to effortlessly find solutions to problems you didn’t realize you had. Before a problem had become a problem Laun was at work providing a solution. Sometimes the problem was you hadn’t had a good laugh in a while. He really loved a good joke, a good prank, a good smile and getting everyone in on his pranks made it all the better. Smiles all ‘round.

Laun spent much of his time working to improve life for his family and community. Whether he was making improvements around the house and yard, volunteering as a ski instructor for the Special Olympics, or helping at soup kitchens and Meals on Wheels, Laun could always be found making life just a bit better for someone.

Laun had a passion for martial arts, music, pickle ball, squash, and tennis. He loved to golf and travel abroad. He was always ready to spend time with friends and family, and always had stories to share.

A Celebration of Laun’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 4th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Celebrant Dave Foley officiating.  Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/
