Much of the southwest descended on Shaunavon last weekend for their annual Boomtown Days events.
Multiple days of events took place including a successful car show as Cal Vance President of the Shaunavon Chamber of Commerce explains.
"We were one shy of our record as far as the number of cars. so basically the same as last year. Lots of new vehicles that we had never seen before showed up. All of the trophies ended up going to out-of-town winners which was a first."
Combined with the car show this year was the BBQ Showdown which Vance says they had several competitors for and the park was packed all night long.
This year's Boomtown Days were a rousing success with a record number of floats entering the parade as well as their first young entrepreneurs market as Vance details.
"We had seven competitors and four different stands. Every single one of them put on a great show for having all their beverages there. I tried to get around to test them all myself but the judge's feedback was great. All the young entrepreneurs all made money so that's what they were there for."
Vance adds that he wishes to thank all the local sponsors and volunteers without whom the event could not be put on.
