It will be a busy day of football on Saturday in Ponoka.

Todd Lewis, head coach of the PeeWee and Bantam Broncs, says they have a full day planned.

"Not only are the PeeWee Broncs and the Bantam Broncs kicking off but also the Senior Broncs are kicking off all on the same day. It's never happened in our program's history before."

Lewis mentioned that the teams will be hitting the field with a grand entry.

"We run through our banner. We have a bunch of smoke bombs popped off. We have dozens of sponsor flags that our players run with. We take the field, we run through the smoke, through the banner and as we do we have professional-grade fireworks pop off as well. The guy who does the Stampeders and the Edmonton Elks, he's our guy who does fireworks for us. He's amazing."

Other activities planned throughout the day include a car show by the Ponoka Piston Poppers, a community market, and a halftime show.

Football Day in Ponoka gets underway with the Bantam Broncs hitting the field at 10 a.m. against the Strathmore Badgers. The PeeWee Broncs will face-off against Strathmore starting at 1 p.m. The Senior Broncs take on the Coaldale Spartans at 4 p.m.

All of the events are free.

"It's a community event and we want people to show up and have a good time and enjoy some great football and enjoy all the other festivities we have planned," added Lewis.
