A Leader man is serving almost three years in prison for a number of weapons and drug related charges.
Daniel Koldingnes pleaded guilty to charges including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, theft of a truck, breaking and entering of a garage, fraud, possession of a handgun for dangerous purpose, fail to comply with a release order to not carry weapons outside his residence, and breach of a probation order to not possess identity or financial documents that aren't his.
"It's good that he resolved it all," said Crown Prosecutor with the Swift Current Provincial Court House, Greg Lee. "It spends a lot of resources of the court and our time as well. When someone pleads guilty it helps a lot. That's to his credit."
The charges stem from a number of incidents and parole violations. The sentencing totals 1,045 days consecutive coming from both federal and provincial charges.
"He's trouble, but he did express some remorse," Lee said. "He seems genuine in it. His father is supportive of him, so hopefully he can serve his time and put this behind him."
Koldingnes also received a lifetime weapons prohibition.
