Local stock car drivers, fans, and family headed to the Palliser Pavillion this past weekend for the Swift Current Stock Car Racing Association's wind-up and awards presentation.
Doors opened at 4:30 p.m. for the event which included raffles, beverages, a live DJ, a plethora of awards, and a catered supper which began around 6:00 p.m.
Broden Berg, number 37 hobby stock driver, noted that they saw a good turnout with many smiling faces.
"I'd say the season went pretty good, a lot of clean driving, a lot of fun, and definitely looking forward to next season," shared Berg.
The Mini Stock Champions included Jonathan Nelson, Mitchel Cook, and Brianna Cook. Rob Gale Junior, Serge Perreault, and Tylor McGrath were presented as the Hobby Stock Champions while Wayne Sadowski, Jason Hankewich, and Kevin Schafer, who was also awarded a bedazzled belt, secured spots as Street Stock Champions.
Most Improved Driver went to Kevin Schafer in the streets, Brianna Cook in the minis, and Dilon Smith in modifieds. Rookie of the Year was given to Tyson Crowe in streets and Broden Berg in the hobbies.
Additionally, custom cups were awarded for Favourite Driver, Best-Looking Car, Most Sportsman-Like, and Best Pit Crew.
