A Success man has been charged with stealing almost $60,000 in diesel fuel.
33-year-old Kenton Wotherspoon faces charges including 10 counts of unlawful use of a credit card, eight counts of theft under $5000, two counts of theft over $5000 and three counts of trafficking in stolen property.
"We were notified by a business that an ex-employee used a fuel card," said RCMP Constable Cory Riggs. "And they purchased up to $57,969.55 in diesel."
Police say the complaint came from an oilfield company in the Lloydminster area.
"We entered an investigation specifically in Lloydminster," Riggs said. "As the investigation progressed, we learned it was not just in Lloydminster. There were different towns and cities the gas card was used in."
RCMP then put out a warrant for Wotherspoon's arrest and picked him up on October 18th.
He's accused of using the card to buy diesel fuel and then selling it at a discounted price.
Wotherspoon was held for a judicial hearing and then released. His next hearing is November 5th in Lloydminster.
