It was a tough ending to the season for two southwest high school football teams on Saturday.

On the road in Delisle, the Shaunavon Shadows came up just short in the provincial nine-man quarterfinals falling 29-25.

Keagen Richards, Grayson Arendt, Treysen Tetrault, and Kaleb Little scored touchdowns for Shaunavon in a losing cause.

Shaunavon has seven players graduating this year, including all four that scored a touchdown.

Meanwhile, the Swift Current Comp Colts also fell in a close contest in Moose Jaw to the Peacock Tornadoes 14-7.

Kye Griffin scored an 82-yard pick-six for the Colts in the Tier II championship loss.

Swift Current has 18 players set to graduate this year.

The Colts had been defending Tier II champions.
