Besides candy for the trick or treaters, residents in Humboldt can also hand out some non-perishable food items tonight.
The U15 AA Humboldt Broncos team will be canvassing the community collecting food items for the Humboldt Food Bank.
Captain Kash Elke says the food drive is a way to say thanks to the community for the support the hockey team receives.
“We’re just very grateful for the community and everybody that comes out to support our games and we would love to give back to the community.”
Helping an organization like the food bank is a way for the team to recognize the assistance they receive.
“Just to give back to what they give to us to watch our games and support and our sponsorship and to show our faces in the community.”
All 17 players from the U15 AA Humboldt Broncos team will begin their collection of non-perishable food items beginning at 5:00.
They will drop off all the food items they collected at the Humboldt Food Bank later in the evening and then head to the rink for practice.
