The Town of Leader is ready for the upcoming election, with Aaron Wenzel already having been acclaimed as Mayor.
While that race for office never started, the campaign for town council has been underway.
Running for a seat at the table are Isabelle Blohm, John-Mark Bredeson, Tim Ryerson, Riley Feiffer, Dustin Bischoff, Craig Tondevold, and Dustin Heatcoat.
Erin Romanuik, CAO for the Town of Leader, isn't surprised by the election race, especially in that for Mayor.
"The previous year we did have a race for mayor, but before that, we had a mayor that was in for quite a few terms," said Romanuik. "So I think this is kind of at a normal level."
Romanuik described the key issues facing the Town of Leader in this election as transparency, serving the community, and doing what is best for the Town.
Yesterday, advance polls closed in Leader, with no plans for any special polling stations this year.
"We only have the advance poll at the town office," said Romanuik. "Then on election day at the community hall. Both places are accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility issues. We don't do homebound voting or mail-in voting, or any at the hospitals."
Anyone with questions can call the town office, where profiles for the council candidates can be found. Election day will be Nov. 13, 2024.
