The Hodgeville Community Hall will be lit us this weekend during the 14th Annual Night Jesus Was Born Nativity Display.

Anne Barkman one of the original founders of the display details what guests can expect.

"It is a collection of about 1100 different nativity scenes. It's a walk through event where people can stand or walk around and experience different interpretations of scenes of the nativity."

Visitors can attend the display this Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 9pm and Sunday from 10 am - 6 pm.

The event is free to attend as Barkman adds its a gift they want to give to community and surrounding area of why they want to celebrate this time of year.

It is a fun family event as Barkman explains.

"There's lots for kids to do, we have a little scavenger hunt that kids can participate in as well. Christmas goodies, hot chocolate and apple cider."

In addition, Barkman adds that as the word spreads about the event, it seems more and more people are interested in attending each year.

Along with the nativity scenes, visitors can find around 50 decorated Christmas trees as well as thousands of mini sparkling lights all over the community center as well.

The display is no small feat as Barkman says it takes about a week to set it all up each year and she thanks all the volunteers and community members for helping to set it up and visiting.
