The Estevan Curling Club saw a few young curlers put on quite the tournament as they held the Southern Plains Co-op Ltd U15-U18 Spiel.
Teams from across the southeast participated, including Estevan, Regina, Carievale, Carnduff, and Carlyle.
President Pauline Ziehl Grimsrud talks about the rotating fours matches which saw an Estevan team taking top spot.
"The gold match was between the Gritty Grippers, which is an Estevan team versus Team Toms, which is out of Carnduff. The Gritty Grippers were gold and Toms were silver. For the bronze medal match, it was Carievale versus On Point Team, which was out of Estevan. On Point was victorious and received the bronze."
The spiel also saw the U18 teams face off with another Estevan victory.
"In the U18 teams, we had the finals. Fonstad from Estevan versus Brown from Carlyle Fonstad was victorious with the gold medal. The ECS boys versus ECS girls was for the bronze medal match and the boys from the ECS were the winners and received the bronze medals."
Grimsrud thanked all of the sponsors who helped to make the spiel possible.
The curling club's next event will be their U20 Provincials, taking place from February 5-9.
