Team Skrlik will represent Alberta next month at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts after a thrilling 6-5 win over Team Kaufman in the finals of the 2025 Alberta Women's Curling Championship Sunday in Rimbey.
Skrlik had a 5-4 lead heading into the 8th end when Kaufman was able to steal one to tie things up at 5. The teams blanked the 9th leading to Skrlik's game-winning shot in the 10th.
Skip Kayla Skrlik commented on the game-winning takeout.
"I've curled the last three provincial finals, it's always come down to the last shot. It's something that I enjoy doing. I've done it for a long time now. To win it on a made shot is great."

Skrlik talked about her team's preparation schedule for the upcoming Scotties which start Feb. 14 in Thunder Bay, Ont.
"We'll take a little bit of a rest," she said. "We're battling a lot of illness out here so I think we'll take a couple of days off and then get back to it."
A dozen teams competed Jan. 22 to 26 at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre in Rimbey for the right to be crowned provincial champs.
