The City of Red Deer is inviting residents to stay active and healthy this winter by joining the February Fitness Challenge, running from February 1 to 28, 2025.

This community initiative encourages individuals and families to build healthy habits through fun recreation activities offered at City of Red Deer recreation facilities.

Whether it’s swimming, skating, fitness classes, or drop-in sports, staying active and prioritizing health and well-being contributes to a stronger, healthier community.

Participants can get involved at several City of Red Deer recreation facilities, including the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Recreation Centre, Michener Centre, Servus Arena, Setter’s Place at Great Chief Park, and Kinsmen Twin Arenas by picking up a February Fitness Challenge card and receiving one stamp for every hour of activity they complete.

“This challenge is a great way to stay active during the colder months while connecting with our community,” said Monique Pages-Mearns, Recreation Facilities Supervisor “We encourage everyone to take part, try new activities, and have fun!”

Participants who stay active throughout the February challenge will have chances to win recreation themed prizes designed to foster long-term habits and enjoyment of movement.
