UPDATE: Saskatchewan RCMP say investigations are ongoing into the homicides on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation and the firearms incident on Zagime Anishinabek, as police work to determine whether the two cases are connected.
RCMP Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Services remain on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, continuing to collect evidence. Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area.
Authorities have not yet formally identified all victims. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is conducting autopsies, and police say they are providing updates and support to loved ones who may be impacted.
Keagan Panipekeesick remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Feb. 11.

The Saskatchewan RCMP is continuing to investigate two incidents that occurred in southeast Saskatchewan on February 4, 2025, including the suspicious deaths of four individuals on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation and a firearm-pointing incident on Zagime Anishinabek.
Suspicious Deaths on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation
RCMP Major Crimes investigators remain at the scene of what is being investigated as a homicide involving four victims on the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.
The victims, two adult males and two adult females, were found deceased, and authorities believe the residence may have been specifically targeted.
Though formal identification is still pending, the Saskatchewan Coroners Service is working with RCMP to confirm the identities of the victims. The RCMP's family liaison team is providing updates to loved ones impacted by the homicides, and Victim Services is being offered to support the families.
An increased police presence will continue as investigators gather further details. At this stage, RCMP cannot confirm whether the homicides are linked to any other incidents in the area.
Firearm Pointing Incident on Zagime Anishinabek
Earlier today, Keagan Panipekeesick, of Regina, was arrested by the Regina Police Service in connection to a firearm-pointing incident on the Zagime Anishinabek First Nation.
Panipekeesick has been charged with one count of pointing a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm contrary to order under the Criminal Code. He will appear before a Justice of the Peace later today, with court details yet to be released.
Two other individuals were taken into custody at the residence during the investigation, and RCMP officers are continuing to assess their potential involvement in the incident.
The RCMP is examining whether there is any connection between the firearm pointing incident and the homicides. At this time, no link has been confirmed.
