The Swift Current Comp. Colts and Ardens Senior basketball teams will be vying for the league championship tonight on Country 94.1 FM's Local Sports Live powered by OMT Projects.
The top-ranked Colts face the second-seeded Central Cyclones in a battle between the Moose Jaw league's top two teams.
Colts Head Coach Phil Braun said they've been preparing for this moment all season long.
"We want to stay consistent with what we've done all season," he said. "Every possession matters."
Swift Current split the season series 1-1 with Central beating them 87-84 in their most recent matchup.
"Those games have been a lot of fun and they've been really good for us experience wise," Braun noted. "We haven't come out on top all the time. It's been good to have those close games to battle through. It shows the character of these guys. The highs and lows they always give it their all."
One area of the team's game will be critical if they're going to bring the championship home.
"We feel about our offence," Braun said. "But our defence is where we need to maintain that hustle and identity."
One of the Colts' leading scorers, Duncan Gevana is looking forward to the tough competition.
"Central is a really, really fast team," Gevana said. "They can shoot. They're just really good overall."
Country 94.1 FM's Local Sports Live will braodcast both the Ardens against the Vanier Spirit at 6:00 PM and the Colts against Central at 7:50 PM.
