Cook pointed out that Tourism Swift Current has over eighty business members, each receiving social media marketing, event marketing, news, professional development opportunities and retail space in the mall should they choose.
In addition, Wall mentioned that the city is also represented in the Southwest Saskatchewan Tourism Development & Investment Attraction Hub Pilot Project which utilizes the Trans Canada Visitor Reception Center at Maple Creek to promote visitor attractions and investment opportunities in each of the regional communities in the project. This is a two-year project funded by Prairies Economic Development Canada and through Communities Futures Rural Opportunities Fund. They ae currently in the second year and have developed a strategic plan for project moving forward.
Wall says the desired outcomes of the project include to encourage regional cooperation and promoting tourism across the southwest showcase region to name a couple.
