Local wrestling enthusiasts, southwest residents, and anyone looking for a bit of excitement can look forward to live professional wrestling with well-known legends coming to Swift Current next month.
Canadian Wrestling's Elite is set to put on its Point to Prove show at Swift Current's Lieutenant-Colonel Clifton Centre on Thursday, May 29, with the action kicking off at 7:00 p.m.
Danny Warren, general manager at Canadian Wrestling's Elite, detailed that while the official lineup hasn't been released yet, TNA Wrestling Legend, Cowboy James Storm will headline the event.
"We've got a long-awaited return to Swift Current, due to venue availability, it was left off our last tour," he said. "It's suited for the entire family and all ages, we get kids as young as three or four in the crowd to grandma and grandpa in their 70s."
Warren shared that in addition to Storm, several of Canadian Wrestling's Elite's own champions will appear in Swift Current, including Chizzled Chad Daniels.
"You're going to see a night of live professional wrestling and entertainment in a way that you maybe haven't had an opportunity to if you live in the Swift Current region," he said. "A lot of people have a perception of professional wrestling from what they see on television, but what it is in person is a completely different animal altogether.
"That's why it's been mounting such momentum and excitement across Canada as we continue to build these tours."
VIP tickets are $30 each in advance or $35 at the door, while tickets for general admission are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Tickets are available at Pharmasave in Swift Current, online through www.cwetickets.com, or in person at the door.
"There's nothing quite like seeing two big, gull-grown athletes three feet from your face and flying through the air," added Warren.
