As spring gets into full swing, southwest residents, local families, and tennis enthusiasts can now plan to play some tennis or test it out with some lessons for any age.
Earlier this week, Tennis Association Swift Current opened up registration for both memberships and Spring Learn to Play Tennis Lessons, which run from May to June.
Kimberly Hartwig, head coach for Tennis Association Swift Current, shared that no equipment is required as racquets and balls are provided, folks are only asked to wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
"For anyone who's ever been interested in tennis, this is the best way to come and try it out," she said. "You get to play with people in your same age range and people at your same skill level.
"We use progressive tennis, which means that we match the ball and the court size to the ability of the player, so it's a really accessible way to start playing tennis, and it's a lot of fun."
Memberships are $25 for ages 18 and under or $80 for adults, members are also eligible for discounts on lessons.
"We've added lots of new programs this year, including cardio tennis and stroke clinics," Hartwig added. "We also have financial support available for U19 players."
