The Town of Cochrane and Cochrane Public Library are asking residents to help plan the library of the future through a new Facility Needs Assessment project called Your Voice in Every Chapter.

The initiative aims to explore how a new multi-purpose library could better serve the needs of a growing and evolving community.

“The library has always been a place where our community comes together, but we know we can do even more,” said Library Board Chair Rhonda Newman. “This project is about imagining what’s possible, creating spaces where kids can explore, seniors can connect, and everyone in between can learn, share and grow.”

From July 14 to August 24, residents can share their ideas through an online survey at LetsTalkCochrane.ca/yourvoice, as well as at in-person pop-up events and self-guided stations around town.

Mayor Jeff Genung says this is a chance for the community to help shape a space that truly represents Cochrane.

“This is our community’s chance to weigh in and ensure this space truly reflects the heart of Cochrane and supports our community for years to come,” said Genung.

Feedback collected during this first round of engagement will help identify what services and spaces matter most, from quiet reading areas and collaborative zones to community partnerships and new programming opportunities.
