Some southeast locations will see a benefit from the recent announcement that 77 healthcare positions would either be newly created or would see announcements by the provincial government. Announced last month, the funding for those positions comes from an administrative restructuring that the SHA went through earlier this year.

30 rural and remote communities will receive these positions, which the SHA says are focused on areas which have seen staffing disruptions in the past.

The following positions will see an update with the new funding coming from the provincial government.

  • Arcola, 1 new permanent full-time Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse position
  • Estevan, 1 additional Registered Nurse and 1 additional Licensed Practical Nurse position at St. Joseph’s Hospital
  • Kipling, 1 new full-time permanent Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse position
  • Moosomin, 1- new permanent full-time Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse position, and 1- new permanent full-time Licensed Practical Nurse position
  • Redvers, 2 part-time Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse positions, for a total of 1.2 full-time equivalents
  • Weyburn, 1 new full-time Medical Radiation Technologist

The SHA has begun posting for all 77 roles and is expecting to fill these new positions as soon as possible.
