This week’s Adorable Adoptables spotlight is on Kirk, a once-timid pup who’s transformed into a playful and loyal friend.
Kirk arrived at the Cochrane & Area Humane Society shy and unsure, but he’s made incredible progress.
“He was really a scared little guy when he first came to the shelter,” says Robyn Roy, communications coordinator with the Humane Society. “It took him a while to warm up, but with our help and lots of patience and love, he’s finally warming up.”
Now about a year old, Kirk is a mixed breed who weighs just under 40 pounds and still has a bit of growing to do.
“He’s an athletic little dude. Oh my goodness, he’s cute.”
Kirk has become a social butterfly at the shelter, helping more timid dogs find their courage.

He gets along great with other dogs and would thrive with a canine buddy in his new home.
While Kirk loves people, he may find a hectic home with young children a bit too overwhelming.
“He’s really just looking for that consistent, loving home,” says Roy.
Kirk is currently staying with a foster family, so if you'd like to meet him, reach out to the adoption team at 403-932-2072 ext. 113.
