The Biggar RCMP were a busy bunch to end August

The Biggar RCMP unveiled a sizeable list of calls in their first report of September.

The most notable incident in the report had to do with a situation involving two adults, that resulted in a pair of assault charges.

"A 31-year-old female and male have both been charged with assault on each other and placed on conditions of no contact to try and dilute their toxic issues. Both will once again appear in Biggar Provincial court on Nov 5th."

The other headline call of the report, seasonal farm work drew the ire of an individual in the Biggar area.

"It is that short time in the season again when a few of us will watch crop dusters at work," wrote Crozier, as one individual felt the plane was causing a stink. "However, one 66-year-old male in the RM of Perdue has decided it’s his mission to wage a war of complaints against these low flying aircraft at work," he finished with no further updates given.

The reporting week also included 18 drivers being spoken to about traffic safety, and what changes they need to make to make our roads safe.

Police were unable to engage a vehicle in one instance as they received a complaint of a 2020 grey Mazda CX5 on Highway 14 travelling at excessive speeds, erratically pulling in and out of traffic on the way to Saskatoon. Another complaint on Highway 14 came after an un-tarped scrap iron load was reported as being pulled along the road.

A few cases saw revivals, as another fraud was reported surrounding a small engine repair deal. Joining that update was more investigation into the 18-year-old male accused of vandalism to the tennis and basketball courts, work still ongoing to track down and speak to witnesses for more information.

The above calls were part of 39 total for the detachment over the past week.
