Four Interceptions lead the 4-0 Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 30-23 win over the Toronto Argonauts

With the Saskatchewan Roughriders sporting their retro jerseys, it felt like a blast from the past on Thursday night. For the first time since 2013, the Roughriders have opened the regular season with a 4-0 record following a 30-23 win over the Toronto Argonauts. 

Saskatchewan’s defence generated five turnovers, including snagging four interceptions from Argos QB Cameron Dukes.  

Two new exhibits at the Humboldt Gallery

The Humboldt Gallery will be holding an opening reception for a pair of new exhibits this weekend.  

Sketches from Home by Leane Harasymchuk and Endless: Land, Lake, and Light by Leslie Blacklock, will be on display at the Gallery until August.  

Sketches from Home features a distinctive Urban Sketching style to capture hidden gems hiding in plain sight.  

An update from Humboldt CO-OP following the recent cyber security incident

Humboldt CO-OP has provided an update on the recent cyber security incident. 

The cardlocks are back up and running as of last night system wide. 

They are currently stocked up in dairy. 

In terms of produce, alternative suppliers have been contacted and being used. 

Federated Co-op says that will be continuing updating management on the situation as it unfolds. 

Successful weekend for Hammerheads in Watrous

43 members of the Humboldt Hammerheads swim team competed in Watrous this past weekend. It was a successful weekend for the squad with several members achieving personal best records.

Ex-Broncos Matthew Perkins invited to Vancouver Canucks development camp

A former member of the Humboldt Broncos is getting a look from a National Hockey League (NHL) team this week.  

Matthew Perkins received an invitation to participate in the Vancouver Canucks which began on Monday and will conclude on Thursday. 

Last season, Perkins spent his first season with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the 20-year-old had 15 points (6G-9A) in 35 games.

It was a perfect Saturday morning for the Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce's Summer Sizzler Parade. Residents lined up on Main Street, 11th Avenue and 16th Street to see floats, new and vintage farm equipment, vehicles, animals and more head down the streets before ending up at the Uniplex grounds for the Canada Day/Summer Sizzler activities.

Watrous Whitecaps are ready to host their swim meet

This weekend, the Watrous Whitecaps will hold their annual swim meet, drawing teams from corners of the province. Over 150 swimmers will be competing, including the local products from the Whitecaps swim team.  

President Tanya Jansen said the Whitecaps season began with practicing in the beginning of May, with the swimmers having to use the Aquatic Centre in Humboldt due Watrous only having an outdoor pool.  

Could be a big weekend for Broncos Matthew Van Blaricom at the NHL Draft

This weekend, many hockey players will see their dreams come true when they hear their name called at the National Hockey League (NHL) Draft and that includes one member of the Humboldt Broncos, Matthew Van Blaricom. 

The draft gets underway on Friday night with the first round taking place inside of the Sphere in Las Vegas. The first 32 selections will be made on the opening night.
