The rain didn't put a damper on the flag raising ceremony at Civic Park for the beginning of Pride Week in Humboldt on Monday. 

Starting with the flag raising, it will be busy week full of activities.

Humboldt and Area Pride Network Founder and Chair Andrew Matheson says they want to show inclusion, diversity and to fight for diverse communities. 

With the SJHL Draft coming up Tuesday, the Humboldt Broncos have added an extra draft pick.

They acquired the 21st overall selection of the 2009 portion of the draft on Monday from the Notre Dame Hounds in exchange for Future Considerations.

The SJHL Draft gets underway at 3:00, the Broncos currently own the 10th overall pick. 

With seeding complete, another series of Meals in the Field came to a close with a visit to the Voldeng Farm near Spalding. 

The Voldengs and crew enjoyed a meal that was provided by Ditches Den in Spalding, to help celebrate a successful end to the seeding. 

Originally starting out as a hog farm, Rod Voldeng said he and his brother bought the farm from their father. In 2008, the Voldengs decided to move away from the hogs and transitioned into grain farming.

Mechanics and mother nature co-operated with the Voldengs for the spring seeding according to Rod.

SaskPower has announced there will be planned outage tomorrow, Tuesday June 11 in Manitou Beach. 

The outage is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am until 4:00 pm and will affect customers east of John Street.

The SSHSA Provincial Track and Field Championships took place on Friday and Saturday in Saskatoon. 

As a District, HCAA finished 6th out of 14 districts that were competing with 16 individual medals, 2 team medals, and 1 aggregate medal. 

The Humboldt Broncos have announced that 2005-born forward Kye Benoche has committed to the team for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Benoche,a Campbell River, BC product split last season with the BCHL's Coquitlam Express and NCDC's New Jersey Rockets. 

After spending 18 games with Coquitlam, he had 22 points (8G-14A) in 23 games in New Jersey. He also added 4 goals in 3 playoff games. 

With the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF) beginning a work-to-rule on Monday, June 10, the Horizon School Division is asking for the community for volunteers to support with noon hour supervision.  

With the vision of the Humboldt Broncos Memorial continuing to evolve, the committee have made slight alterations to its membership. 

A motion was passed at the recent City Council meeting on May 27, that will see two positions changed from members of the Public Arts Commitee to a pair of members at large. 

The paths for a trio of Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawk football players are about to branch off. Last month they enjoyed one final experience as teammates as members of the North squad in Football Saskatchewan’s Senior Bowl.    

Easton Ottmann (running back), Matt Schuett (defensive line), and Mason Bunko (offensive line) were the three representatives from Humboldt that took part in the annual All-Star game.      

SaskPower has announced there will be a planned power outage in Manitou Beach for Thursday, June 6 Between 8:00 am until 4:00 pm 

This outage will affect customers east of Albert Street.
