Broncos add an additional selection in the 2024 SJHL Draft


With the SJHL Draft coming up Tuesday, the Humboldt Broncos have added an extra draft pick.

They acquired the 21st overall selection of the 2009 portion of the draft on Monday from the Notre Dame Hounds in exchange for Future Considerations.

The SJHL Draft gets underway at 3:00, the Broncos currently own the 10th overall pick. 

Meal in the Field with Voldeng Farms

With seeding complete, another series of Meals in the Field came to a close with a visit to the Voldeng Farm near Spalding. 

The Voldengs and crew enjoyed a meal that was provided by Ditches Den in Spalding, to help celebrate a successful end to the seeding. 

Originally starting out as a hog farm, Rod Voldeng said he and his brother bought the farm from their father. In 2008, the Voldengs decided to move away from the hogs and transitioned into grain farming.

Mechanics and mother nature co-operated with the Voldengs for the spring seeding according to Rod.

05 F Kye Benoche commits to Broncos for upcoming season

The Humboldt Broncos have announced that 2005-born forward Kye Benoche has committed to the team for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Benoche,a Campbell River, BC product split last season with the BCHL's Coquitlam Express and NCDC's New Jersey Rockets. 

After spending 18 games with Coquitlam, he had 22 points (8G-14A) in 23 games in New Jersey. He also added 4 goals in 3 playoff games. 

Three HCI Mohawks ready for next stage of their football careers following Senior Bowl

The paths for a trio of Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawk football players are about to branch off. Last month they enjoyed one final experience as teammates as members of the North squad in Football Saskatchewan’s Senior Bowl.    

Easton Ottmann (running back), Matt Schuett (defensive line), and Mason Bunko (offensive line) were the three representatives from Humboldt that took part in the annual All-Star game.
