Q. Why are you running for council?

A. I’m running for council because I feel the city has way more potential than is being realized. I want this city to be a place that my children will want to return to after university. With the increase in crime and dilapidated roads and infrastructure, our city has taken a wrong turn that needs to be righted.

Q: Why are you running for council?

A: My strong background in both business and social work equips me to tackle Moose Jaw's key issues, like housing, jobs, and social challenges. Having lived here for over 45 years, I’ve raised a family, owned businesses, and worked with our community’s most vulnerable. My priorities are community safety, new jobs, and affordable housing, driven by the belief that "If there is a need, there is a way.

City offers free bus to municipal forum

The City of Swift Current is offering a free bus to those who want to attend tonight's municipal forum at the Living Sky Casino.

The forum features the ten candidates for Swift Current City Council from 6:30pm until 8pm.

The contact number for the free bus is 306-741-1587. Service will run from 6pm till 9pm.

It is a call-to-ride service so that number will connect you with the driver to make arrangements.

Mayoral candidates lay out platforms at forum

The five candidates in the running to become the next mayor of Moose Jaw took part in an all-candidates forum on Tuesday night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. 

Taking part in the forum were Clive Tolley, Crystal Froese, James Murdock, Mike Simpkins and Kim Robinson.

Grainger looks to take Shaunavon to new heights if elected

A former law enforcement officer has thrown his name in the hat to run for the position of Mayor of the Town of Shaunavon.

Drew Grainger is keen to bring over three decades of public service experience, a willingness to lead, and a collaborative mindset to the table. 

Grainger served as an RCMP for 32 years before purchasing a house in Shaunavon in 2021 to renovate over the year, making the move from Vancouver with his wife in 2022.

Long-time R.M. of Swift Current councilor campaigns for Reeve

Councillor for the Rural Municipality of Swift Current, Rick Kehler, has announced that he's running for the position of Reeve this year.

Kehler has lived in the Rural Municipality for his entire life and has served as a councillor for the past 12 years.

The Wymark resident is hoping to bring years of experience, a team-oriented approach, and an open line of communication to the table if elected.
