While it's taken months to heal, a pastor who was shot in the head while preaching on the street is talking about his experience, and God's goodness.
On November 15, 2023, Hans Schmidt was street preaching at the corner of 51st and Peoria avenue in Glendale, AZ, when someone walked up to him and shot him in the head.
New season of Bread We Break starts Sunday
Many programs are gearing up for another year and Bread We Break is no different.

CMU students head to Guatemala
A 23-year-old university student from Steinbach is taking a semester abroad in Guatemala.
Hannah Friesen, 23, is entering her fourth year at Canadian Mennonite University (CMU). She left with her classmates on Friday, Sept. 6, and will be in Guatemala for three months.
She is going through CMU’s program, "Estamos," which offers studies abroad in various destinations.
Free prayer breakfast for healthcare workers this weekend
Nurses and healthcare workers are invited to come to a breakfast for prayer, fellowship, and encouragement.
Nurses Christian Fellowship Canada has been around since 1942 in Canada. Susan Popkes is the Manitoba representative for Nurses Fellowship Canada and has been involved since 1989.
"The goal is to encourage and support nurses in their job," Popkes says. "Also to encourage them through prayer, fellowship and teaching."
Gunman opens fire on Tennessee pastor's home, nearly missing them
Pastor Greg Locke and his family are shaken up but are thanking God that no one was hurt after a gunman shot up their house.
"It’s 2:00 am and for the last 3 hours, our home has been a full-blown crime scene," says Locke, the founder and lead pastor of Global Vision Bible Church in Juliet, TN. "According to the security cam footage, we pulled into our driveway exactly ONE MINUTE after a madman unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage and my truck."

Although music has always been a part of Steinbach artist Lorne Kauenhofen's (AKA LMNK) life, his older sister was one to really cheer him on to follow his talents.
Kauenhofen describes his sister catching him when practicing music. "I remember my older sister, she would often come around the corner and when I would catch her, I would be all embarrassed. But she would encourage me and say it sounded good."

While on tour with 90s rock band Creed, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down took time out of his set to share his Christian faith with the audience.
Brad Arnold is the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, a rock band from Mississippi that got big with hits like “Kryptonite," "Be Like That” and “Not My Time."
While 3 Doors Down isn't a Christian band, Arnold recently took a moment after playing one of their songs "Away from the Sun" on stage to share the hope he's found in Jesus.
Camp Arnes reflects on 75 years of 'God's grace and provision'
After 75 years of ministering to kids each summer, Camp Arnes north of Winnipeg is celebrating all that God has done.
"Seventy-five years of God's grace and provision," says Neoma Greene, a volunteer and she is also a board member at the camp. "We've got a couple events planned for the weekend. We've got Bread we Break concert and message on the Friday and on Sunday we have a day full of celebration."
The celebration event will take place at Camp Arnes on September 20 and 22.
