Ohio State campus hosted baptism/worship night as football team shared their faith

The Ohio State University and local churches recently hosted an event on campus that saw many people give their lives to Christ and even get baptized. 

The university football team hosted the event and many players shared their testimonies on the stage after everyone engaged in a few worship songs. The praise and worship night had roughly 1,000 people gathered together.

Church's generosity becomes way of sharing gospel with community

A church in Tennessee recently helped a whole community pay off their medical bills adding up to $8 million. 

The Altar Fellowship in Johnson, TN, is led by Pastor Mattie Montgomery and his wife, Candice.

During an interview, Montgomery explained how this generous act came to be. The pastor received a call from a friend who explained he had a dream of paying off people's medical debts.

Three years ago Jordan St. Cyr moved him and his family down to Tennessee. This week he'll perform in his hometown of Niverville for the first time since the move to a sold-out crowd.

"We wanted to do something special, in Niverville, just to really honour all the relationships that have helped us get to where we are here," says St. Cyr. "I'm blown away by the response. It's going to be a beautiful night of worship and celebrating what God has done in our lives and what His desire is to do in each one of our lives."

One city in Türkiye has just one operating church building. Now, that building may be facing closure.

Last month, the three congregations that meet in this historic building received an eviction notice from a government official. The notice said the building was structurally unsafe and the congregations would have to move out before August 24.

Christian author Grace Fox recently released her newest book that talks about the power in the different names of God. 

"It's got seven names of God, the Hebrew names, and doing a deep dive into, where did they first show up in the Old Testament and what was the context," says Fox. "I described a story from my own life, how I've experienced God by that name, and then how did Jesus fulfill that name to show that He was truly God."

The book, Names of God: Living Unfraid, is best read as a group, according to Fox.
