Wet weekend forecast holds up according to Rainwatchers

After showers throughout Friday and Saturday, the damp conditions this weekend continued overnight into Sunday morning.

“As we talked about throughout the week, that low pressure system moving through the Dakotas has been throwing wave after wave of precipitation northward,” explained CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. “We have had some breaks in the rain, and there were even some peeks of sunshine late Saturday afternoon in areas east of the Red River. We may see the same thing Sunday, but I would expect another mainly cloudy, damp day, for the most part.”

Thursday through this morning appears to be the start of what's looking likely to be a rainy weekend, at times, throughout Southern Manitoba. Our PembinaValleyOnline Rainwatchers were quick to call in totals, with many regions still much drier than usual at this point in the season.

It looked like a lot of people were trying to take advantage of it, with bike and walking paths full last night, and the odd lawnmower going, too.
