A Winnipeg ministry leader releases new music after feeling Christ's love for the struggling youth of the city.

Kelly Wiens is releasing a seven-track album, I Worship You, that was inspired by his call from the Lord to create a music ministry that would be available for everyone around the world to hear.

Wiens says that finishing this album has been like a "resurrection."

Tomorrow June 14th, and this Thursday, June 16th at 7:30pm the Winnipeg Chamber Music Society (WCMS) returns to the concert stage with their annual mini-chamber music festival that they are calling “Mozart and More.” Both concerts take place at the Muriel Richardson Auditorium at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and will feature chamber music of Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, and Khachaturian.

Grieving after a loss seems to have a short lifespan in this day and age, but a local mental health expert is encouraging people to learn to grieve well. 

Winnipeg Christian artist and music therapist, Danielle Savard is excited to share more about her upcoming single and accompanying music video.

"Currently I am with Shalom World Christian TV Network doing a music video," says Danielle Savard. "They came here on Sunday, we worked yesterday and today. We're doing a music video and an artist profile on their program called Beats."

Savard is releasing her new single 'Sacred Space' on June 26.

After ten years off, singer/songwriter Ryan Ramsdale of Winnipeg is excited to share some new Christian folk music once again.

When Ramsdale started playing music in a band many years ago, he wasn't a Christian.

"I wanted to make a career in the music industry. It was a very self-serving approach," says Ramsdale. "I wanted to be known, famous, and all the destructive stuff as well. I pursued it with a lot of energy."

Then he found God and he shares that becoming a born-again Christian changed his life and his desire for music. 

Tonight May 31st and tomorrow June 1st   at Westminster United Church at 7:30 pm, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra welcomes back to Winnipeg the marvelous Canadian horn player James Sommerville. Currently serving as the principal horn with the Boston symphony Orchestra, Sommerville has also established himself as one of the pre-eminent horn players in the world.

A Manitoba song teacher and artist is releasing her third album, giving all the glory to God through her songs. 

"Somehow I know that [my mom] is rejoicing in heaven right now with me thinking, 'You go. I'm so proud of you still'," says Katrina Van Humbeck on the release of her latest album, Stronger Still. 

When Van Humbeck isn't teaching private lessons at the Winnipeg Conservatory of Music or substitute teaching, she's pouring her heart into her music. 

Pre COVID, the Winnipeg School Division’s Divisional honor band was a vibrant, engaging and inspirational event that fostered the growth of some of Manitoba’s finest young musicians.  Over the past two years the honor band was silenced; another casualty of the COVID lockdowns. This year however, it is back, albeit in an adapted form. Band students who go to schools in the Province’s largest division will be able to show their remarkable talents via an online concert.
