Miller Express complete comeback win over Regina
The Moose Jaw Miller Express came from behind to pick up an 11-10 win over the Regina Red Sox last night at Ross Wells Park. It was a make-up game for Saturday's postponement due to rain.
Regina opened with three runs in the top of the first inning, but Moose Jaw replied with two runs in the bottom half. Thomas Soto scored on a catcher’s error, and Tanner DeGrazia hit a single to drive home Austin Gurney.
Agriculture Minister Daryl Harrison updates producer groups on AgriStability changes
Saskatchewan producers will benefit from major enhancements to the AgriStability program for the 2025 program year, aimed at strengthening support amid trade uncertainty and ongoing drought conditions.
Federal, provincial, and territorial agriculture ministers met virtually last week and agreed to increase the compensation rate from 80 per cent to 90 per cent, and doubled the maximum payment cap from $3 million to $6 million per operation.
Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Daryl Harrison announced the changes yesterday on a farm at Rush Lake.
Planned power outage for Lynbrook Heights residents today
Residents in the Lynbrook Heights area in Moose Jaw will find themselves without power between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. today due to a planned power outage announced by SaskPower.
The reason behind the outage is not known at this time, but residents on the west side of the 1300 Block of Algoma Ave and those on the east side of the 1300 block of 6th Avenue NW will be impacted.
Multiple road closures to impact residents today
There's a number of closures, to both traffic and sidewalks that could have an impact on your commute today.
This includes pair of closure permits on Main Street N.
The first is in effect while building maintenance takes place from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. today near the Hammond Building on the corner of Main and Fairford Street W, impacting the westbound lane and adjacent sidewalk.

It took over four hours to complete but local baseball fans were treated to some entertaining action at Ross Wells Park last night.
The Moose Jaw Miller Express outscored the Regina Red Sox 11-10.
Eduardo Saenz went 3 for 4 at the plate including a home run and three RBI.
Tanner DeGrazia and Andy Rivas also went deep for the winners.
The Millers are back in action tonight, hosting the Weyburn Beavers who lost 14-2 to the Saskatoon Berries last night.
The Swift Current 57's were winners last night, 12-6 over Medicine Hat.
Sask Parks urges water safety during Drowning Prevention Week, reminds of loaner lifejackets
Saskatchewan Parks is reminding everyone to stay water safe as the province marks Drowning Prevention Week from July 20 to 26, 2025 — a critical reminder as thousands of residents head to lakes, rivers, and pools across the province this summer.
“Water safety is not just important for park visitors,” said Alana Ross, minister of Parks, Culture and Sport.
“It is critical for everyone who spends time around water, whether it is boating on the lake, swimming in a backyard pool or fishing on a quiet river.”
Federal, provincial governments boost AgriStability payouts for 2025
The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan have announced significant temporary changes to AgriStability for the 2025 program year, boosting payments for producers and raising the ceiling on maximum payouts.
The program’s compensation rate will rise from 80 to 90 per cent, meaning farmers enrolled in AgriStability will now receive 90 cents for every dollar of eligible margin decline. The maximum payment per operation will double from $3 million to $6 million for 2025.
Concrete work continuing on 13th Avenue NW
The City of Moose Jaw has given an update of concrete work taking place of 13th Avenue Northwest.
Between Carleton Street and Montgomery Street has reopened, but parking lane and sidewalk restriction will be in place.
Work is continuing on 13th Avenue Northwest from Carleton Street to Grace Street. The sidewalks and road will be closed until Friday.
“I just shudder”: Minister issues plea for driver safety in construction zones
This summer has been a busy construction season in southeast Saskatchewan. In addition to the work on Highway 39 for the construction of the roundabout on the western outskirts of Weyburn, there is work happening on Highway 35 on the north edge of the city, culvert replacements in a number of locations, and ongoing work on Highway 18. With all of the construction that is happening, the province’s Minister of Highways, David Marit, is reminding drivers to slow down, exercise caution, and obey all the signage in work zones.
Senft to step down as CEO of Seeds Canada
The founding CEO of the five-year-old organization will stay on until January 2026
Seeds Canada is looking for a new chief executive officer after Barry Senft announced he is stepping down from the role he’s held for about four years.
Senft will continue to serve as CEO until the end of January 2026.
“I think after five years, it’s time for new leadership,” he said during the 2025 Seeds Canada conference in Quebec City.
He said someone with more seeds experience would make sense now that the organization is up and running.
