Canada and the United States had committed to working on a new economic and security agreement with a July 21 deadline for a deal. The boosted tariff pressures call into question progress toward the initial time frame.

Carnie's Comments - Throwback Thursday

Carnie's Comments

It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good old days.

Remember when we all had maps in our cars? We'd keep them in the glove box and, from time to time, we'd pull over and have a look when we needed them.

Times have changed. Now we have cel phones with services like Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant and Google Maps.

I put two of those into action last week when I was visiting friends in Calgary. Siri got me to my first destination with no problems. She was perfect.

Sports Round-Up: Thursday, July 10

They scored 4 runs in the 6th inning and 3 more in the 7th and that's all they needed - the Regina Red Sox beat the Miller Express in Moose Jaw 7-4 last night.

Leadoff hitter Ian Montz did most of the damage, going 3 for 6 at the plate with 4 RBI. Meanwhile, Robert Estrada hit a home run for the Millers.

One other East Division team was in action last night - the Weyburn Beavers suffered an 11-8 loss in Medicine Hat and that's where the Millers will play tonight against the Mavericks.
