Lakovic ready for pressure-packed draft season ahead
Moose Jaw, Sask. – Lynden Lakovic’s stock is on the rise heading into the 2025 NHL Draft.
This week, the Moose Jaw Warriors forward was given an ‘A’ rating by NHL Central Scouting in their Preliminary Players to Watch list, and he was also named to Team CHL for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by Kubota next month.
Lakovic said the outside accolades hasn’t phased him as he looks to continue climbing up the draft rankings.

Sentencing hearing resumes for Saskatchewan father who withheld daughter to prevent COVID-19 vaccination
A sentencing hearing resumed Monday for Michael Gordon Jackson, a 55-year-old Saskatchewan man who withheld his seven-year-old daughter from her mother for over 100 days between 2021 and 2022, attempting to prevent the child from receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
Jackson was found guilty in April of contravening a custody order, following a two-week trial. The Crown is seeking a two-year prison sentence, with credit for time served on remand, along with three years of probation and 200 hours of community service.

Kelowna, B.C. – The Moose Jaw Warriors have loaded up the bus and hit the road for five games in 11 days through the BC Division, which will start on Friday night against the Kelowna Rockets at Prospera Place.
The Warriors have struggled heading into the road trip, going winless in their last five games, but forward Owen Berge said the team is focused on getting back on track during the trip.

Pair of AAA Warriors make WHL debut
Two youngsters from the Moose Jaw Winmar AAA Warriors got the opportunity to play their first set of games in the WHL.
Carson Deichert (16) and Maxon Johnston (14) got the call to aid the Moose Jaw Warriors to play numerous games already this season. Both played against the Spokane Chiefs and Medicine Hat Tigers, while Deichert was on the roster for an additional game against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Planned outage between Assiniboia and Limerick on Monday
SaskPower is reporting a planned power outage on Monday, Oct 28, which will impact people between Assiniboia and Limerick and heading south to Twelve-Mile Lake.
The outage is expected to last from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and is happening for system maintenance.
The village of Limerick is also expected to see a 4-hour planned outage for system maintenance on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
