Yesterday was a scorcher, but how hot was it? According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, Moose Jaw was the hotspot not just provincially but also nationwide, topping out at a balmy 31.0°C.
Moose Javian's are in for several more days of persistent heat, and Meteorologist Crawford Luke says that we could hold that top spot again in the near future.
New pieces of public art installed at Tourism Moose Jaw
The City of Moose Jaw has announced that two new pieces of public art have been installed at the Tourism Moose Jaw visitor’s centre.
The two pieces are art are a metal baby bison sculpture and a full-sized Red River Cart. Both pieces of art were installed earlier this month.

A series of brief planned power outages to impact customers west of Moose Jaw
A series of planned power outages will be impacting customers west and southwest of Moose Jaw today.
The outages begin Monday morning with brief interruption to service for rural customers south and southwest of Caron from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This interruption is followed by one impacting all customers in the village of Caron itself, lasting from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
There are no additional outages currently planned at this time.
Air Canada cancels plan to resume flights Sunday as union defies back-to-work order
Air Canada cancelled hundreds of additional flights on Sunday after the union representing its flight attendants announced the workers would remain on strike in defiance of a back-to-work order.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees said it filed a challenge in Federal Court on Sunday to an order by the Canada Industrial Relations Board that said its members must return to work by 2 p.m. ET.
"Our members are not going back to work," CUPE national president Mark Hancock said outside Toronto's Pearson Airport. "We are saying no."
