800 CHAB’s Barrie Vice inducted into broadcaster's hall of fame
800 CHAB’s Barrie Vice has been inducted into the Western Association of Broadcasters (WAB) Hall of Fame on Thursday evening.
Vice began his broadcasting career at CJDV Drumheller in July of 1977. He joined 800 CHAB in 1979.
Miller Express down Red Sox, extend streak to six games
Four runs in the top of the 10th were more than they needed as the Moose Jaw Miller Express outscored the Red Sox 8-5 on Wednesday night.
The Millers have won six in a row and sit atop the Western Canadian Baseball League East Division.
Designated Hitter Brian Reyes went two-for-five at the plate, hitting a double and a triple and driving in four runs for Moose Jaw.
Parts of Thatcher Drive will be closed for paving
Paving will be getting underway starting on June 8, which will be closing sections of Thatcher Drive West.
Crews will pave the road on Thatcher Drive West from Wood Lily Drive to VLA Gate. Those intersections will remain open.
The intersections at Ninth Avenue North West and 11th Avenue North West will be closed during phases of the project. However, one of those intersections will remain open during the two phases.
Moose Jaw high school athletes haul in 12 medals at track and field provincials
Moose Jaw athletes picked up a total of 12 medals at the SHSAA High School Track and Field Provincials in Regina over the weekend.
Aliyah Block from Cornerstone Christian School was the golden girl. She picked up gold medals in the senior girls’ discus and shot put.
Miller Express extend winning streak to five games
The Moose Jaw Miller Express have now won five games in a row after a thrilling 8-4 extra innings victory over the Red Sox on Monday night in Regina.
The Red Sox’s Cade Nelson got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI double. The game would remain scoreless until Austin Gurney hit a lead-off home run in the top of the seventh inning to tie it up 1-1.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 Moose Jaw recognized Decoration Day on Sunday to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice during wartime.
Small Canadian flags were placed at veterans' gravesites at cemeteries across the city, totalling about 1,100 flags.
Following the placement of the flags, a ceremony was held at the cenotaph at the Rosedale Cemetery.
Chamberlain drug bust connected to extensive RCMP investigation
The Saskatchewan RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit (FSOC) based in Regina, began an investigation in October 2020, into a crime group that was distributing large quantities of drugs to several communities across Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Moose Jaw, Regina, Saskatoon and numerous rural communities like Assiniboia, Marquis, Mossbank, Caronport and Craven were affected.
Over 7,000 hours of surveillance were conducted in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan, as well as over 60 judicial authorizations, were executed.
Man pronounced dead after single vehicle accident
A 33-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle rollover at the intersection of 4th Ave NW and Laurier Street West.
The Moose Jaw Police Service, along with the Moose Jaw Fire Department and EMS, responded to a single-vehicle rollover just after midnight on Saturday.
The man was pulled from the vehicle and taken to the F.H Wigmore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The collision is still under investigation.

The Moose Jaw Police Service and Moose Jaw Crime Stoppers are requesting the public's assistance in locating 20-year-old Morgan Maier.
Maier is being listed as a missing person. She is 5'2 and weighs approximately 105 pounds, with shoulder-length blonde hair.
She is believed to be with 27-year-old Blake Forbes. He is described as 5’7” tall and weighing approximately 160 lbs, with short brown hair.
U13 Ice win Sharon Knott Tournament in Regina
The Moose Jaw U13 Ice girls’ fastball team came out on top at the Sharon Knott U13 tournament over the weekend.
The Ice opened the tournament on May 28 with wins against the Butte Heat and the Regina Royals Raiders. In both games, the girls scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back.
